Theo Schmid has more then 40 years experience with all kind of wood coating systems, interior and exterior.
Theo Schmid was working as technical director in leading wood coating companies (e.g. Hua Run Wood Coating in China, PT Propan Raya Wood Coating in Indonesia)
and raw material supplier (Byk Chemie, Altana, Germany, to build up the global wood coating business for additives).
During this 40 years, Theo Schmid build up a network with main global wood coating producer and raw material supplier.
Since 20 years, Theo Schmid is working exclusively as consultant for wood coating and is travelling world wide
Global Wood Coating Consulting is managed by Theo Schmid, german paint chemist, born in Stuttgart (Germany).
After high school in Stuttgart (Germany), he passed the study for paint chemist in Stuttgart (Germany),
by Professor Dr. Hans Kittel.
The final project was about wood coating tecnología and UV curing systems.
In 1972 he founded the wood coating company “ESPANAL LACKE” (later “Pellicer Espanal Lacke” in Benicarlo, Valencia, Spain.
In 1989 he sold his shares to his partners.
Paint supplier was Urruzola, later BASF Española, phosphatation was done by Turco Española, and the electrophorese equipment was done by Baltogar, license from DUERR in Stuttgart, Germany

After study, in 1967, Theo Schmid moved to Zargoza, Spain. As head of the paint department at Industrias Balay S.A., he coordinated the instalation of the first electrophorese equipment in Spain.
